Quick setup, useful tools

I signed up for the Starter Plan to test some ideas. The App Templates helped me get going fast. The Firebase Connector was easy to set up. Exporting the code was simple. Only minor thing was finding the right menu for PWA Deployment.

Reliable for ongoing projects

I've been using Draftbit for a while now, switched from the Pro Plan to the Team Plan this year for better collaboration features. This time, setting up the new users for the Team Plan was a little clunky. It took me a few tries to get everyone onboarded correctly, which was a bit frustrating. But once that was done, everything else worked as expected, same reliable service. The PWA Deployment is still my favorite feature, very consistent. I stick with Draftbit because it's always delivered on its promises for my projects, even with that small hiccup.

Good value for yearly plan

I was looking for a platform to build a mobile app without spending a ton. I found Draftbit and saw they had a 20% discount if you paid for the year upfront on their Pro Plan. That made a big difference for my budget. The annual billing really brought the cost down. It felt like a solid investment compared to monthly payments. The Visual App Builder is pretty good, and I was able to get a basic app working faster than I expected. Worth the money for sure.

Good for building an app

I used the Visual App Builder and the Real-time Previewer to mess around with an idea I had for a simple app. It was pretty easy to get started, even for someone like me who doesn't code much. The drag-and-drop stuff made it feel like I was just putting together a puzzle. I did find the App Store Publishing Service a bit confusing when it came time to actually try and launch it, though. Still, it was a solid experience overall for a beginner.

Consistent performance, good features

I've been using Draftbit for a while now, mostly on the Pro Plan, and I recently decided to try out the App Store Publishing Service for a client project. Just like my previous experiences with the platform, everything was pretty reliable. The React Native Code Generation and Source Code Export have always been lifesavers for me, letting me tweak things outside the platform when needed. This time around, the publishing service worked well, though it took a few days longer than I expected to get everything through Apple's review process. They've been consistently adding new features too, which keeps me coming back instead of looking at other tools like FlutterFlow.

Easy to use, mostly

So I tried Draftbit because a friend told me it was pretty easy to make an app, and I wanted to see if I could build something for my little side project. I went with the Starter Plan just to test the waters. The Real-time Previewer was super helpful, it let me see changes right away which was neat. It took a bit to get the hang of connecting my data with the API Connector, but I figured it out eventually. Overall, it was a pretty smooth experience and I got my app working.

Simple app building

Used Draftbit for a small project. Got the Individual Plan. Custom Component Code worked well. Exported source code fine. Fast and direct.

Reliable as always

I've been using Draftbit for a while now, mostly on the Individual Plan. This time I upgraded to the Pro Plan for a new project, and it was seamless. The extra features like Custom Component Code are exactly what I needed. It's good to see the Visual App Builder is still as intuitive as ever, though sometimes the real-time previewer can be a tad slow to update.

Draftbit student discount? How do you get it?

K KaranL 2 days ago ✓ Best Answer
I got mine through their startup program application, but I think they have a direct student one too. Check their website footer for 'Education' or 'Student Discount'.

Yeah, it's usually a separate application process, not just a code.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting Draftbit for a new project. Is it generally better than FlutterFlow for building something quick?

B Brittany D. 1 month ago
From my experience, Draftbit feels more geared towards React Native if that's what you're into. FlutterFlow uses Dart, so it really depends on your tech stack preference.
1
T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
I've used both. For speed and direct React Native output, Draftbit is pretty solid. FlutterFlow is good too, but the ecosystem is different.

Anyone know if the 20% off annual Draftbit plans is still active?

Yeah, I just signed up for the Pro Plan yearly last week and it was automatic at checkout. Didn't need a code.

1
S SunilM 2 weeks ago
It's usually their standard deal for annual billing, not really a 'coupon' in that sense. Just choose yearly.

R RajeshK 2 weeks ago
Makes sense. Was hoping for an extra stacking code lol.

Draftbit is way better for code export if that matters to you.

If I build an app with Draftbit and then cancel my subscription, what happens to my app? Can I still use it?

J James Campbell 1 month ago
You can export the source code, so even if you cancel, you'll have your app's code. You just won't be able to use their builder or services anymore.
3
H Hannah Johnson 1 month ago
Yeah, the big deal is you own the code. So you can take it and run it yourself if you host it. You just lose access to their platform features like the live preview and updates.

Is there any way to get a discount on a yearly plan? I'm looking at the Pro plan but it's a bit pricey for me right now.

O Olivia 1 month ago
They almost always give you a good chunk off if you pay annually instead of monthly. That's how I got my Pro plan cheaper.

D Donna T. 1 month ago
Keep an eye out for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, they usually run bigger promos then. Otherwise, the annual billing discount is pretty standard.

So if I get an annual plan, can I cancel it anytime? Or am I locked in for the full year no matter what?

M Melissa W. 1 month ago
You're paying for the whole year upfront, so you'd have access for that full year. You can turn off auto-renew though, so it just doesn't charge you again when the year is up. Don't think you get a refund if you cancel early.
4
S Sam N. 1 month ago
Yeah, what they said. It's an annual commitment for the discount, but you control the renewal. I cancelled mine a month before it was due to renew, no problem.

Does anyone know if Draftbit does a free trial? Don't want to commit without trying it out first.

S Sean Davis 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually have a free trial. You can sign up and play around with it for a bit to see if it fits.
3
K Karen E. 4 weeks ago
Pretty sure there's a free tier or at least a trial period. I remember using it before I bought a plan. Check their main page, it should be obvious there.

Does Draftbit ever do Black Friday sales? Want to get the Pro plan but wondering if I should wait a few months.

A Amanda Scott 1 month ago
They definitely do! I got my annual plan last Black Friday, it was a pretty sweet deal, saved a good chunk. Worth waiting if you can hold out.
4
A Alex Taylor 1 month ago
Yep, they usually have something around then. Also, keep an eye out for other seasonal stuff, like maybe New Year or Q1, sometimes they have offers when people are planning new projects.

Hey, thinking about signing up for Draftbit but trying to figure out if it's worth it over FlutterFlow. Anyone used both and have thoughts on which is better for building something pretty custom?

J John 1 month ago
I've played with both a bit. Draftbit uses React Native which is cool if you want that kind of code under the hood. FlutterFlow is Flutter, obviously. For custom stuff, Draftbit lets you drop in your own code pretty easily, and exporting it is straightforward if you need to really dig in later.
1
P Paul H. 1 month ago
Yeah, if you're serious about owning your code and maybe even hiring RN devs down the line, Draftbit's probably the way to go. FlutterFlow's good for quick ideas but felt more locked-in to me. Also, Draftbit's AI features are kinda neat for getting started fast.

Can I use my own custom components or code in Draftbit? Or is it strictly drag-and-drop stuff?

J James Thompson 1 month ago
You can totally integrate custom code. That's one of the cooler features, you're not locked into just what they give you.
6
A Andrew 4 weeks ago
Yep, they let you add custom component code. It's not just a no-code tool, you can get under the hood a bit.
